too much, not enough

How can he say he loves me too much?

He doesn't love me enough.

Only the fracture of an intense love could hurt this much.

I'm trying to make sense of something I will never understand, I know this. It's futile. Yet I have to keep trying until my heart can accept that it's over, there is nothing to understand.
